We are glad to announce the start of the first edition of Legion TD League (short LTL)!

This league will consist of teams of 2-3 players who will, on average, play one best-of-3 versus another team each week. The duration of the league will depend on the amount of teams. If you are interested in joining, you can sign up here, but before you do so, please read all the info and rules, so you are sure you are able to compete in this league until the end.

What do we expect from you?

This league has two goals: 1) to make the game more competitive, and 2) to promote the game. We expect from you to aim for those goals as well. So every player who will join should strive to be active and learn from their games. Besides that, every player should try to promote the game by their participation in the league. This can be done through streaming or recording their games, inviting people to spectate their games, or simply by being a positive addition to the league.

It is very important that you once you start in playing the league, you will also finish it. Earlier attempts of leagues have failed, because teams that could not win anymore stopped playing their matches. If you plan to do so, don't join this league! Teams that drop out without a good reason won't be allowed in any future seasons of the league.

    How to plan a match

It is the duty of the captain to represent his team when it comes to scheduling a match with another team's captain. With that said, there are some rules to respect.

    • Captains must be reach-able throughout the week and must provide a working schedule of available times by Tuesday. (Weeks go on until Sunday) They must reach an agreement on when the game will be played at the latest at 23.59 CET Wednesday.
    • When both captains came to an agreement concerning the time the match will be played, they must notice the staff members on Discord. This will be done by a message from Captain stating the day and time (in CET) and a confirmation by the other captain. If no agreement is reached by Wednesday 23.59 the captains must notify the staff members, who will then join in finding a solution.
    • If you are, for some reason, unable to play at the agreed time, you have until 2 hours before the match to let the admins and enemy team know. If you fail to do so, you will be penalized. It is your responsibility to find a new date and time as quickly as possible if you miss your agreement.
    • It is possible to play games 2 weeks before you are scheduled to play your match. So in week 1, you are allowed to play your matches that are scheduled in week 1, 2 and 3. It is not allowed to play matches more weeks in advance. If you have a good reason why you should play your game more than 2 weeks in advance, contact an admin and they will decide if you can.
    • If any team is breaking agreements, or consistently has troubles with availability, the staff may decide to replace this team at any time. The team chosen to replace this team will be as close to the rating of the replaced team as possible and will take their statistics with them into the remainder of the league.

    How to play a match
Please make sure you stick to the following procedure when playing a match.
    • When starting a game, the captain of the first team mentioned in the match-up must create the game.
    • 10 minutes before the start of the match, the captain of the first team mentioned in the match-up must announce the game on the 'Game Start' section in the LTL discord, so that anyone who wishes to spectate the game has the chance to do so.
    • Once the game has been hosted, wait for at least 3 minutes after the agreed starting time of your match, so people have the chance to join and spectate your game.
    • If one of the two teams is not complete after 15 minutes of the agreed starting time, the other team is allowed to screenshot the lobby and leave. It is then their choice if they play the game later or have a 2-0 win by absence of the other team.
    • Each captain should screenshot the 'end of the match statistics screen' after their match. The winning team should then post those screenshots with the result in the 'Results' channel of the LTL discord.

    Streaming and VOD's

We heavily encourage any form of streaming and creating VOD's or any other content for the league. We believe the league is not only a tool for participating players to improve themselves, but also a tool to create a community and let other players get to know tactics and play styles by viewing the games. We therefore ask of anyone participating in the league to think of possibilities to stream or record (with or without commentary) their games.

We also gladly welcome anyone who is not participating in the league to stream and record games as a spectator. If you want to do so, please let the captains of the game you want to stream know, so they can make sure you have a spot in the game. Generally, the best way to do this is to let your intentions be known in the 'General Chat'-section of the LTL discord.

    Spectators

Because of the promotional goal of this league, we will allow anyone with a level 4 account or higher to spectate the matches in the LTL. To do so, keep an eye on the 'Game start' section in the LTL-section of the LTD2 discord, and join the game you want to see. The number of spectators that can join a game is limited, though, so it is possible that the game is already full when you try to join. In that case, you can check out the 'Stream and VOD' section of the LTL discord, to see if the game is streamed or recorded. People who stream or record the game for public viewing will always get preference over regular spectators!
