When you've been out of the game for 3 months and you were 1500 you are no longer that high. Please put people in some ranking placement matches to determine the current rating.

Something like loosing x elo per day after x days of not playing, but give the lost elo faster back if they get active again till the old rating would be nice I think.
A player with higher elo will play weaker after certain time because of not be familiar with the newest patches, but because he was better than someone with lower elo, he will learn faster to become the old strength.
    (theoretically, average) :)

Nah, that wouldn't work. Doesn't matter what game it is, when you need to make tight decisions that require experience, a single patch can destroy all your work and you have to start anew. Also when you stop playing you start to lose timings, gold thresholds, etc. which you have to reacquire.

A system where you are put into placement for a few matches to see the deviation from your previous rank would be in place. This also chains with my other request to make rankings real and not a delusion about how many games you were able to win in a streak.

That is already in place. It was implemented months ago. If you do not log in for a period of time, your rating begins to drop.
