v4.01 Patch Notes Expected to release: Friday, July 19 Deployed Thursday, July 18 at 4:25 pm PST (1:25 am CEST) Chat 2.0 & Parties 2.0 This is a complete revamp of the chat & party system to make them scale beyond a single server. If all goes well, you shouldn't notice much, if any, changes to the in-game experience. Implementing scalability has been our main focus for most of the year, to prepare for a free-to-play weekend. You can read more about it our Looking at Legion updates from May/June: https://legiontd2.com/community/threads/looking-at-legion-june-update.19795/ https://legiontd2.com/community/threads/looking-at-legion-may-update.19381/ We’ll be continuing to focus on scalability for the next several months as we implement scalability for other lobby systems, such as matchmaking, custom game rooms, login queues, and other miscellaneous features. With the revamp, there are some accompanying changes: You can now whisper non-friends. You can choose to block whispers from non-friends in Options. Removed “Stay As Team” button in the post-game screen (it’s tricky to implement and probably wasn’t used that much) If the party leader leaves the party, it will disband the party (rather than remaking it with a new leader). This is to save implementation costs, because remaking the party is tricky to implement. Upcoming v4.02 patch After v4.01 is stable, we can start work on v4.02 which will feature a new Shrine unit as well as the usual bug fixes, tweaks, and balance changes.
